NGA, NIGERIA @ THE ART EXPO NEW YORK 2010.

The National Gallery of Art (NGA), Nigeria is currently participating in the International Art Expo at the Pier 94 on the HUDSON River, New York. Although the NGA has participated in previous editions of the art expo and other International art fairs, this is the first time the NGA will be sponsoring artists to exhibit in the SOLO section of an event of this magnitude. In the words of the Organizers: "Artexpo New York, the world’s largest fine and popular art fair, returns to New York this year with a NEW location: Pier 94, the unconventional convention center. Independent artists around the world won’t want to miss the chance to exhibit in the SOLO section of this year’s show. SOLO has become the ultimate venue for emerging artists to be discovered, not only by gallery owners and art publishers, but by collectors and enthusiasts in search of exciting new works".

The NGA is featuring a total of Six (6) Solo artists and it is the expectation and candid belief of Mr. Abdullahi Muku, the Ag. Director-General of the NGA that the artists whose art works are in the areas of photography, painting and sculpture will well represent Nigerian visual arts and their participation will provide them with a rewarding experience.
